XRlabs builds modular, device-agnostic software that sits as an external AI layer over the surgical systems hospitals already own. Using computer vision and deep learning, it combines live scope video, navigation data, and preoperative CT and MRI scans into a single real-time, anatomy-aware view of the procedure. Its two products are XRlabs SIM, a patient-specific planning tool that builds 3D digital twins from scans, and SurgicalOS, which brings that twin into the live operative view. The company reports use in more than 100 surgical cases across three continents.
Recent milestones include first-in-human use of physical AI in cranial neurosurgery with an ORBEYE 4K 3D exoscope under research conditions, and AI-designed patient-specific implants used in the separation of craniopagus twins.
Funds will build out engineering and clinical teams, advance the products through regulatory pathways in the UK, Europe, and the U.S., and extend clinical evidence. Haddad said “the operating room is the next frontier for physical AI.”
For the broader MedTech space, the round adds to investor interest in AI that works with existing operating room hardware rather than replacing it.
