Tempus AI, a Chicago-based precision medicine and health technology company, has acquired Center Health, an AI-powered chronic disease management company known for its virtual health coaching platform for diabetes, prediabetes, and weight management. The acquisition was announced by Center Health CEO and co-founder Ali Imani in a LinkedIn post; deal terms have not been disclosed.

Center Health's platform includes an AI-driven virtual health coach, continuous and traditional glucose monitoring tools, and personalized guidance for individuals managing diabetes and related metabolic conditions, serving more than 10,000 members. The company was founded by Imani and co-founder Julian Laval with the stated goal of improving the quality, quantity, and duration of human life through more personalized chronic disease management.
For Tempus AI, the acquisition extends the company's multimodal data and AI platform, previously centered heavily on oncology diagnostics and genomic testing, into chronic metabolic disease management, an area distinct from its existing cancer, cardiology, and radiology-focused offerings. It follows a pattern of active acquisition activity at Tempus in 2026, including deals for cancer-testing company Personalis and digital pathology company Paige.
For the broader MedTech and digital health space, the deal reflects continued consolidation of AI-driven chronic disease and diagnostics companies under larger, data-rich platform businesses, as those platforms look to expand the range of conditions their AI models can support beyond a single therapeutic area.
Imani said he could think of "no better place than Tempus and no better time than now" to scale Center Health's mission.
