Spun off from SK AX in October 2024, Purple AI sells stroke imaging software, including a brain hemorrhage detection tool with FDA 510(k) clearance. The company reports supply contracts with about 40 general hospitals in Korea, a more than tenfold year-over-year increase in monthly recurring revenue, and a goal of reaching over 40% of Korean general hospitals by 2027. Specific revenue figures were not disclosed.
The new capital will fund overseas expansion and follow-on products. In the US, Purple AI plans clinical trials and regulatory submissions for cerebral infarction and cerebral aneurysm AI, with the aim of building a combined stroke diagnosis portfolio. It has run demonstration studies with Mass General Brigham, has a US deployment at White Rock Medical Center in Texas, and targets roughly 10 overseas reference sites this year, with full overseas sales beginning in 2027.
For the broader MedTech space, the round adds to continued investment in AI-assisted stroke triage, where speed to diagnosis directly shapes treatment decisions. Murex's Ahn Young-hyun said the investor "highly valued its growth potential."
