Medtronic Announces Intent to Separate Diabetes Business (May 2025) Medtronic announced plans to spin off its Diabetes business into a standalone company, later named MiniMed, aiming to sharpen focus on higher-margin segments while creating an independent, direct-to-consumer diabetes competitor.
