Aurenar has raised $5.7 million in an oversubscribed seed round to accelerate development of its V-Link noninvasive neuromodulation system, designed to reduce cerebral vasospasm in adults with aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH).
The funding, co-led by the Go-Red for Women Venture Fund from American Heart Association Ventures and Solas BioVentures, will support final device development, verification and validation testing, and preparation for FDA submissions ahead of pivotal trials.
V-Link uses transauricular vagus nerve stimulation to deliver low-energy electrical stimulation through the outer ear, targeting the body’s inflammatory response — a key contributor to secondary brain injury after hemorrhagic stroke. The wireless system is designed for use in neuro-intensive care settings and recently received FDA Breakthrough Device Designation.
“This seed close marks a pivotal moment for Aurenar,” said Dr. Eric Leuthardt, founder and CEO of Aurenar. “We are positioned to advance from early-stage neurotechnology to a pivotal-trial-ready company.” He added that the funding will support milestones focused on improving outcomes for patients during critical moments of care.
