Healthplus.ai B.V., a Dutch health technology company, has extended its seed financing round with new investors BVP and Noso Capital, joining existing backers LumoLabs, Elevating Capital, Pathena, and ROM InWest. The new investment brings the total seed round to €3.3 million.

The company's CE-certified PERISCOPE platform is an AI-based software as a medical device that reads data already captured in a hospital's electronic health record to predict, for each patient, the risk of a clinically relevant infection up to 30 days after surgery. The system requires no additional data entry, operates inside existing clinical workflow, and provides explained predictions intended to help clinicians decide who needs closer monitoring and who can safely be discharged. According to the company, its models have been trained on more than one million patient records and have documented a negative predictive value above 98%.

Funds will support continued rollout of PERISCOPE across European hospitals, expansion into additional post-surgical complications beyond infection, and progress toward FDA approval in the US, beginning with a multi-center clinical trial.

For Healthplus.ai, the round adds investors with healthcare-specific experience to a widening syndicate. For the broader MedTech space, it reflects continued investor interest in AI-based clinical decision support tools built to integrate into existing hospital workflows rather than add a new layer of alerts, an approach that has historically struggled to gain physician trust.

Founder and CEO Bart Geerts said the funding shows the infection-detection gap is "not just a Dutch problem or a niche one."
