GE HealthCare unveils Allia Celeo ceiling-mounted interventional system

Latest Medtech News

GE HealthCare has introduced the Allia Celeo, a ceiling-mounted image-guided system for interventional cardiology and radiology, at the Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics conference in San Diego. The system features an extra-wide bore C-arm for 2D and 3D scanning. It has CE marking in Europe and is pending FDA 510(k) clearance.

Integrated cabling lets the system rotate freely around the patient, and automatic table and gantry movements allow assessment of the lower limbs in a single acquisition. A digital twin previews gantry positioning, and the image chain manages dose in the background. The platform is designed to work with GE HealthCare’s cleared programs for coronary and structural heart procedures, including stent visualization and valve replacement planning, as well as needle-based guidance for accessing cancers.

Kat Davis, GE HealthCare’s general manager of interventional solutions, said the system was designed around the idea that “a procedure should move at the pace of the care team, not the equipment.” She said each element is meant to reduce the small interruptions that add up over a day in the interventional suite.

For GE HealthCare, Allia Celeo follows the commercial debut of the floor-mounted Allia Moveo earlier this year, giving the Allia line a ceiling-mounted option. For the broader MedTech space, the launch reflects ongoing competition around workflow and imaging in the interventional suite.
