Bridge to Life raises $110M to scale VitaSmart perfusion system across US transplant centers

Bridge to Life has closed $110 million in Series C equity and debt financing, led by new investor Soleus Capital alongside Lauxera Capital Partners and participation from company directors, officers, and employees. Soleus Capital Credit Opportunities Fund provided the debt portion. The funds will expand the field team behind VitaSmart, the company's hypothermic oxygenated perfusion system for liver transplants, and support a broader pipeline extending into other solid organ transplants.

VitaSmart received FDA De Novo clearance in January 2026 as the first hypothermic oxygenated perfusion system authorized for liver transplantation in the US, and the company says adoption has moved quickly since launch, with master service agreements now in place across several high-volume transplant programs. Part of the proceeds will also refinance existing debt with Perceptive Credit Funds, cutting leverage as the company shifts from development stage to full commercial operation.

CEO Don Webber said the funding "enables us to meet that demand while advancing a pipeline that expands beyond liver transplantation."

The raise lands as organ preservation technology draws renewed investor attention tied to the persistent gap between organ supply and the more than 100,000 patients on US transplant waitlists. Bridge to Life is also developing a viability assessment tool still in the investigational stage, aimed at giving surgeons more objective data when deciding whether to accept marginal donor organs, a challenge that has shaped much of the recent activity in transplant device funding.
