United Imaging has received CE Mark certification for the uCT SiriuX and uCT SiriuX Ultrix, which the company describes as the world's first dual wide-coverage computed tomography family, clearing both systems for commercial availability across Europe.

The platform is built on what United Imaging calls a Twin-Ring Gantry architecture, integrating dual 16 cm wide Ultrix detectors with two liquid-metal-bearing X-ray tubes. The design is intended to support three capabilities: synchronized whole-organ dynamic imaging for capturing physiological processes in detail, ultra-high-resolution imaging across a wide 16 cm coverage area, and whole-body spectral imaging for material characterization and quantitative tissue analysis.
Stefan Ulzheimer, General Manager of CT at United Imaging Healthcare Europe, said the architecture represents a departure from incremental CT development, noting that after two decades in the field, "truly new architectures don't come along very often." He credited close collaboration with European clinical partners in shaping the platform's design priorities around temporal resolution and spectral imaging.
For United Imaging, the clearance extends the company's presence in Europe's advanced imaging market and reinforces its stated mission of expanding access to high-end diagnostic equipment. For the broader MedTech space, it adds to continued innovation in wide-coverage and spectral CT technology, an area where imaging speed, radiation dose management, and material-specific diagnostic detail remain active points of competitive differentiation among major imaging manufacturers.
