REEV launches pivotal clinical study of robotic knee brace to improve post-stroke mobility

REEV has initiated a pivotal clinical study evaluating DREEVEN, an intelligent robotic knee-ankle-foot orthosis designed to improve mobility and independence for stroke survivors with chronic gait impairment.

The study, conducted with clinical partners including Encompass Health, Whittier Rehabilitation Hospital, and Boston University, will assess DREEVEN’s ability to support functional activities such as walking on different surfaces, navigating stairs, and performing sit-to-stand movements. The trial also includes home monitoring to evaluate device performance and safety in real-world daily environments.

DREEVEN combines motorized assistance with REEV’s FDA-registered SENSE gait analysis platform, which provides real-time insights into patients’ gait patterns to help personalize device support. The study represents a key milestone toward FDA clearance and potential commercialization.
