Precision Neuroscience, a New York-based brain-computer interface (BCI) developer, has raised $250 million in an oversubscribed Series D round. Pershing Square, the Ackman Oxman Institute, and an undisclosed leading life sciences investment fund co-led the round, with additional participation from the Duquesne Family Office, B Capital, ARK Invest, Invus, Mubadala Capital, Mirae Asset Capital, Korea Investment Partners, Hitachi Ventures, and JSL Health Capital, among others. The round brings the company's total funding since its 2021 founding to $430 million.

The financing will fund Precision's clinical program, advance its Layer 7 Cortical Interface through further FDA review, and build out commercial infrastructure. Layer 7 is a thin-film electrode array that rests on the brain's surface rather than penetrating tissue, an approach the company positions as differentiated from implantable BCI systems such as Neuralink's penetrating threads and Synchron's catheter-delivered stent electrodes. The device received FDA clearance in April 2025 and has been used in more than 100 patient procedures across 18 medical institutions. Precision also holds a commercial partnership with Medtronic and operates a wholly owned MEMS manufacturing facility in Texas.
For Precision Neuroscience, the round reflects a broadening investor base extending beyond traditional life sciences capital into figures like Bill Ackman, whose Ackman Oxman Institute co-led the round. For the broader MedTech space, the raise adds to substantial capital flowing into BCI as a category, with backers increasingly betting on both surgical and non-invasive approaches to treating paralysis and neurological injury.
Ackman said neurotechnology "will be central to the next generation of cures, treatments, and rehabilitation," while CEO Michael Mager pointed to the company's clinical network, regulatory position, and manufacturing base as core to its next phase.
