Laza is developing a system that combines robotic guidance and AI to address procedural complexity and workflow demands in cardiovascular interventions. It is intended to assist clinical teams during complex procedures, where demand for specialized imaging guidance keeps rising. The technology is still in development and has not received regulatory clearance or approval in any jurisdiction.
Jyoti Gera, CEO of GE HealthCare’s cardiovascular and interventional solutions business, said that making imaging modalities work together could change the cath lab and open the way to robotic procedures. Laza founder and chairman Amr Salahieh said the investor support validates the company’s approach and its belief that the solution will reduce variability and improve the reach of cardiac procedures.
For Laza, GE HealthCare moves from participant to lead investor: it took part in the company’s $36 million Series A. For the broader MedTech space, the round adds to investment in the cath lab, where GE HealthCare also unveiled its ceiling-mounted Allia Celeo interventional system this week.
