Laplace Interventional, a Plymouth, Minnesota company developing a transcatheter tricuspid valve replacement (TTVR) system, has announced that the first three patients have been enrolled and treated in the randomized cohort of its TRIUMPH pivotal trial. The procedures took place at Ballad Health in Kingsport, Tennessee, led by Dr. Gaurav Rana, and at Oklahoma Heart Institute in Tulsa, led by Dr. Kamran Muhammad.

TRIUMPH is a prospective, multicenter pivotal IDE study in which patients are randomized 2:1 against a commercially available TTVR. Laplace’s investigational valve is delivered through a minimally invasive procedure, through either a vein in the neck or the groin, to treat tricuspid regurgitation (TR). Three global principal investigators lead the trial: Dr. Charanjit Rihal of Mayo Clinic, Dr. Kashish Goel of Vanderbilt University Medical Center, and Dr. Brandon Jones of Providence St. Vincent Medical Center.
CEO Ramji Iyer said treating the first patients “sets the early clinical momentum required for the pivotal trial.”
Laplace also announced that Dr. Goel will present one-year data from its trans-jugular Early Feasibility Study at the TCT conference on November 2, 2026, at 2:15 p.m. Pacific Time.
For the broader MedTech space, the trial’s design, a randomized comparison against a commercial TTVR, makes it a head-to-head test in a structural heart category still taking shape. The device is limited to investigational use and is not commercially available in the U.S. or elsewhere.
