IRhythm is acquiring VitalConnect for $287.5 million, split between $237.5 million in cash and $50 million in stock. The deal is expected to close by the end of 2026 and brings VitalConnect's hospital and remote monitoring tools, including its HealthPatch MD biosensor, into iRhythm's existing Zio platform.

IRhythm's Zio system built its name in ambulatory cardiac monitoring after its 2009 FDA clearance. VitalConnect's mobile cardiac telemetry and multi-vitals tools cover ground iRhythm hasn't owned outright: inpatient units and hospital-to-home transitions. For iRhythm, that opens new departments and referral pathways inside health systems it already sells into. For the monitoring space, it adds to a pattern where standalone device makers get folded into platforms built to track patients across care settings rather than a single point in their journey.

CEO Quentin Blackford called it "a significant next step in iRhythm's evolution from ambulatory cardiac monitoring to a broader cardiac monitoring and intelligence platform."

The acquisition comes alongside strong Q2 results, with revenue up 20.1% year over year to $224.2 million and full-year guidance raised to $880-890 million. Remote patient monitoring has seen a steady run of consolidation this year, with larger players pairing biosensor hardware with data and analytics capabilities rather than competing on devices alone.
