Distalmotion has received FDA 510(k) clearance to expand the use of its Dexter surgical robot across additional gynecologic procedures, including sacrocolpopexy, sacrocervicopexy, sacrohysteropexy, and endometriosis resection.
The approval marks Dexter’s second gynecology clearance and expands its indications beyond existing gynecologic procedures, as well as general surgery applications such as hernia repair and gallbladder removal.
Dexter is designed as a compact, modular robotic system aimed at improving access to robotic surgery in hospitals, outpatient departments, and ambulatory surgical centers. The platform supports third-party surgical technologies and uses single-use wristed instruments designed for precision and reduced reprocessing needs.
