A global B2B medical device manufacturer is seeking an experienced Engineering Leader (would consider Associate Director / Senior Manager – Engineering) to oversee and expand the Engineering function at its manufacturing site in Chonburi, Thailand. This is a senior-level position responsible for driving engineering excellence across NPI/NPD execution, process innovation, automation, and advanced manufacturing capabilities.

As part of the site’s senior leadership team, this role plays a key part in shaping the plant’s technical foundation as it continues to scale. The Thailand facility is growing rapidly, with headcount expected to increase from 400 to over 2,000 employees within the next years. The role offers significant leadership scope, impact, and career growth potential.

The role reports directly to the Site lead and will manage a team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 20+ engineers, with responsibility for recruitment, development, and performance management.
• Manage all engineering activities related to new product introductions (NPI) and new product development (NPD).
• Implement automation strategies and support process improvements including VAVE, localization, and product upgrades.
• Act as the technical point of contact for cross-functional project planning, RFQs, and customer requirements.
• Provide strategic direction and hands-on leadership for production transfers and onboarding new technologies.
• Collaborate with PMO and commercial teams to align engineering capabilities with business needs.
• Support resolution of technical issues during mass production (MP) and manage risk-based problem solving.
• Ensure engineering compliance with ISO 13485, FDA regulations, and internal QMS.
• Oversee validation activities, equipment qualification, and engineering change management (ECN/ECO).
• Work closely with the global technology team to support R&D and bring innovation to the Thailand site.

Candidate Requirements

• Relevant University degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 8 years of engineering experience in the medical device industry (Class II or III preferred).
• Proven track record of leading and scaling engineering teams in manufacturing environments.
• Strong experience with NPI/NPD, process development, and production transfers.
• Knowledge of semi-automated production environments and Tier-1 medical device companies is a plus
• Experience with cross-functional collaboration and customer-facing project execution.
• Demonstrated ability to work in dynamic, high-growth settings with a hands-on leadership style.
• Strong command of English and effective communication skills at all organizational levels.
• Willingness to relocate and work full-time on site in Chonburi.
