Our client is a leading orthopedic company that develops surgical implant systems for foot & ankle conditions. Due to their continued growth, they are now looking for a Design Engineer to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious engineer to work and learn in a stimulating environment and make a meaningful impact to orthopaedic treatment.

Applicants should have a strong understanding of engineering including mechanics, structures, materials, design and be proficient in computer aided design. Successful candidates will be trained to design implants using company's proprietary design and manufacturing platform, working with surgeons and a diverse team of engineers and commercial managers.

Key responsibilities:

• Design implants / instruments and generate technical documents to support the designs for regulators.
• Engineering support of R&D projects to develop new product features, workflow and automation software, production capabilities and new materials.

To be considered for the role, you must closely match the following criteria:

Essential:

• Demonstrable ability to learn quickly and apply first principles engineering to new and challenging problems. Strong academic background in engineering, physics and/or maths (minimum of 2:1) and a desire to learn.
• Adaptable and personable; comfortable interacting with a range of stakeholders including surgeons, engineers and suppliers.
• Proficient in CAD.

Desirable

• Experience working with surgeons, developing orthopaedic implants or instruments.
• Post-graduate degree in bioengineering, biomechanics or orthopaedics.
• Experience working with an ISO13485 quality management system, using international standards and meeting regulations.
