Our client is an innovative player within the medical devices industry working on a revolutionary technology in the field of patient recovery after severe injury. The business is currently undergoing significant and sustained growth with an increased global presence. In connection with this ongoing development, our client has opened a brand new role and position for Director Software & Digital Engineering to join their team in Lausanne, Switzerland.

To be successful in this role the candidate should have a solid technical background and be able to manage and motivate people. The ideal candidate will be experienced in creating and implementing IT policies and systems that will meet objectives. The goal of the role is to ensure IT systems and people are effective and functioning optimally regarding the specifications of the company.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all technology operations and evaluate them according to established goals
• Devise and establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by upper management
• Coordinate, develop, and maintain software technology and connected health roadmaps that support the strategic plan of the business
• Analyse the business requirements of all departments to determine their technology needs
• Inspect the use of technological equipment and software to ensure functionality and efficiency as well as identify the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems and report to upper management
• Strive to continuous improvement of the efficiencies in development, process and operations
   

Requirements:

• 10 years of product development experience within the medical device field or other regulated industry plus at least 5 years experience in a managerial role
• Familiarity with Sofware Lifecycle management, design patterns, architecture, and modern programming languages
• Educated to Degree level in computer science, engineering or related, PhD preferred
• Broad and in-depth software engineering knowledge (Architecture, Data engineering/cleaning/ processing, AI, GUI design, Software testing and etc.)
• Proficient in DFT principals
• Proven successful leadership experience in Connected Healthcare Solutions and Software Application Delivery with special attention to data privacy and cybersecurity internationally
• Outstanding communication abilities with an ethical and pragmatic attitude
