Our client is a fast-growing innovative medical device startup company. We have been tasked to find and recruit a Chief Medical Officer who will be passionate about the premise that the medical devices industry will be significantly enhanced with their new and innovative products.

The ideal candidate should be a dynamic person who will have superior judgment, excellent communications skills, a high level of creativity, and the ability to thrive in a complex, extraordinarily intellectual, and highly collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities for the position:

• Be the key leader in the company and provide clinical subject matter expertise in the workflow with the team of engineers to develop the product
• Drive to advance the innovation from the ideation phase, through prototype, and in bring the solution to market
• Define and drive the quality and regulatory strategy for the company and find ways to improve the processes
• Recruit guide and motivate clinical investigators and medical teams
• Initiate medical monitoring activities during the start-up of clinical trials, including the development of process documents aligned with the study protocol, budget, standard operating procedures, and ethical requirements
• Ensure that all healthcare regulations and safety standards are met and keep the medical department updated on new healthcare regulations
• Provide reports to the Chief Executive Officer of the company when required

Key skills required for the position:

• Successful experience as a physician of 1-2 years
• Industry experience or applied academic research within the medical innovation field, ideally within Hematology, Coagulopathy, Diagnostics devices
• Educated to a degree level in a relevant medical speciality
• Previous experience in a role with a similar function would be considered a plus
• Outstanding executive presence and very organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with exceptional interpersonal skills.
